Biography

Dinah Sykes is the Democratic nominee for Kansas insurance commissioner and the Kansas Senate minority leader, unopposed on the August 4 ballot. She entered politics as a Republican and switched parties in December 2018. In a July 2026 trade-press questionnaire she said insurers' use of artificial intelligence should face the same transparency expectations as the rest of the industry, with models tested for accuracy and bias and a human kept accountable.
