David Stumbo is the Republican nominee for South Carolina attorney general. He has been Solicitor for the Eighth Judicial Circuit (Abbeville, Greenwood, Laurens and Newberry counties) since his election in November 2012 and is in his fourth term, was president of the South Carolina Solicitors' Association from 2017 to 2020, and earlier prosecuted in the 11th Judicial Circuit and in the state Attorney General's Office, where he led the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, per the campaign site. The office is open with incumbent Alan Wilson running for governor.
