Democratic · Florida · 2026 · IncumbentA Kissimmee attorney who practices commercial, civil rights and real estate law, Darren Soto served three terms in the Florida House beginning in 2007 and then in the Florida Senate, where his official House biography credits him with the Firefighter Death Benefit Act and with legislation on environmental restoration and education funding. He won his U.S. House seat in 2016 and is the first member of Congress of Puerto Rican descent elected from Florida, per that biography. He serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee and the Natural Resources Committee, and his official biography says he secured half of the $3.4 billion needed for the Beyond I-4 Ultimate highway project and more than $300 million for Orlando International Airport.
