Biography
Darren Soto, a Democrat, has served as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 9th Congressional District since January 3, 2017. Before his election to Congress, he served in both the Florida House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012 and the Florida Senate from 2012 to 2016. Soto is noted as the first person of Puerto Rican descent to serve in Congress from Florida.
