Biography
Daniel C. Smeriglio is a Republican challenger running in the 2026 U.S. Senate primary in Maine. A resident of Frenchville, Maine, he is a U.S. Army veteran, former police officer, and founder of Voice of the People USA, a multimedia platform. Smeriglio is noted as the first primary challenger to incumbent Susan Collins in nearly 30 years.
