Biography
Cindy Hyde-Smith is a Republican U.S. Senator representing Mississippi, first appointed in 2018 and subsequently elected to a full term in 2020. She holds the distinction of being the first woman elected to represent Mississippi in Congress. Prior to her Senate service, Hyde-Smith served as Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce and in the Mississippi State Senate.
