Biography
Cindy Hyde-Smith is a Republican who serves as a U.S. Senator for Mississippi. She was first appointed to the U.S. Senate in April 2018 to fill a vacancy and subsequently won a special election in November 2018, followed by a six-year term in November 2020. Before her time in the Senate, Hyde-Smith served as Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce and spent 12 years in the Mississippi State Senate.
