Biography
Cherelle L. Parker was born to a single teenage mother and raised by her grandparents in West Oak Lane, attending Philadelphia public schools and becoming the first in her family to go to college. She served ten years as a State Representative for Northwest Philadelphia (2005-2015) and was later elected to City Council in 2015, where she served as Council Majority Leader. In 2023, Cherelle L. Parker was elected as Philadelphia's 100th Mayor, taking office on January 2, 2024.
