Biography
Charles Schumer is a Democratic member of the U.S. Senate representing New York, first elected in 1998. He assumed office on January 3, 1999, and was re-elected in 2022 for a term ending January 3, 2029. In 2021, he became the first New Yorker to serve as Senate Majority Leader.
