Biography
Cecilia Lunaparra, the first undergraduate, Latina, and openly queer woman of color elected to Berkeley City Council District 7, is a dedicated community and student organizer. She graduated from UC Berkeley with an Urban Studies degree and previously chaired the Environment and Climate Commission.
Top Priorities
- Fighting for housing justice, including affordable housing, rent control, and tenant protections.
- Creating safe pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure and improving public transit.
- Developing robust independent police oversight and implementing anti-carceral public safety approaches.
