Biography
Carmen Sulton, a nonpartisan candidate, was elected to the City Schools of Decatur Board of Education in 2021, representing District 2. She is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and was unanimously appointed Board Chair for 2026. She and her husband have three daughters attending City Schools of Decatur.
Top Priorities
- Continue to address the District's strategic plan which includes hiring and retaining high quality professionals.
- Working to close the achievement gap, particularly where students of color have historically underperformed their white colleagues.
- Continue to support equity practices within this district.
