Bill Cassidy is a Republican who has served as a U.S. Senator for Louisiana since January 6, 2015. He was re-elected in 2020 and sought a third term. A physician by profession, Cassidy was one of seven Republican senators who voted to convict Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial.
