Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has represented New York's 14th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 3, 2019. Born in the Bronx, NY, she graduated from Boston University and launched her 2018 campaign while bartending, subsequently defeating a 10-term incumbent in the Democratic primary. She is noted as the youngest woman and first Latina/woman of color to represent her district.
